My New Best Friend is...

...... Natasha Khan.. Best known perhaps as the lead in the band Batforlashes!

This young lady came to my attention when my friend Miss Bridger approached me with a photo shoot idea based on the style of this quirky gal. Good work Tash mate. Her childish, unique, playful and theatrical style is beautifully inspiring and fresh. I'm going to keep an eye on this grounded, indie chick as she is the current epitome of originality and creativity! Also... If you haven't heard her Radio1 Live Lounge version of Kings of Leons "Use Somebody" then i suggest you youtube it immediately. It nearly brought me to tears, myself the biggest KOL fan, i found i was throroughly impressed! Natasha Khan x

Should've gone to Specsavers!

So my first taste of backstage fashion glitz and glamour was at the annual Specsavers awards. I gained a place as a dresser for the show and have never been so excited in my life, my work experience journey starts here...

The night was an awards ceremony for the spectacle wearing celeb world. The awards also had a catwalk show based around 10 aspiring models, the 10 slinky and fruity youngsters were styled and interviewed all in the hopes of wining contracts of some sort. My model who's name i cant for the life of me remember came 2nd!! yeye her, lovely Irish lass!

Backstage was filled with the legendary master of hair Mr Errol Douglas (who took a good 30secs to stare and study my dry wavy locks ;) yey!), Hilary Alexander noted Fashion Journalist. Mr Gok Wan who was lovely to everyone he met, including myself- i didn't have the heart to mention we both shared Leicestershire roots! Gok burping in the mouth of Errol Douglas was definitely a highlight of the night haha! The night was hosted at the V&A and presented by household favourites Ben Shepherd and uber thin Jenni Falconer. Jenni who smooched with the backstage posse firmly holding onto a 20pack of Marlborough golds i may add ;)

As i scurried around the historic venue ferrying around dresses i also spotted Roland Reverend and Vic Reeves, Reeves proceeded with his Mrs Nancy Sorrell to win "the nation's favourite spec wearers", (i would quite like to know who voted?!). Other award winning celebs at the event were Erin O'Connor, Kimberley Stuart, Calum Best, Radio1 DJ Colin Murphy.

I had spent the whole morning running around London's Tate Modern studying the delights of the current POPLIFE exhibition and proceeded to run around the whole of Kensington flapping and getting ready for the show. I'm not one for worshiping reality TV but Lauren and Whitney from The Hills really made the taste of backstage event shows glamorous than it was!

Loved it anyway! xx
