I'll be your best friend!!

Yep... I'm bringing back the friendship bracelet!!

p.s i miss LC!!!

God Save the Kings!

So i love these boys more than the sun and in case you've been living under a rock for the past few years let me just give you a quick round up on who they are. Once upon a time there were 3 brothers and a cousin from Tennessee. After a pure and innocent childhood various shizzle came their way and the boys took to a life filled with puckish endeavours and behaviors. After forming into a rock band 10years ago they have since brought out 4 albums each adding to their vocal library of poems romantically concerning drugs, sex and alcohol filled relationships.

Sex on Fire launched these boys into the heart of every festival last summer leaving them with a boys-next-door kinda feel. Ever since mothers across the land are borrowing their daughters albums and blaring "slow night, so long" in their cars as they go off to work in the morning. Mums humming along to "Knocked up" and "4kicks" is what the world should be all about :)

However, i can't put up with these sex-on-fire fans taking over all the sacred gigs and shows these lads are playing... I CAN'T GET TICKETS!!!

Is it the smooth, rustic tones my man Caleb mixed with Matthews rugged riffs that melt the hearts and minds of women everywhere or is it the rhythm and baselines of Nathan and Jared that get boys and men alike racing home to play guitar hero??

Wow i pointlessly rambled on quite a bit there, when actually the point i wanted to make was-
Balenciaga (another love of mine) apparently had KOL's album as the soundtrack to their AW10 show in Paris :D YEYEYEYYEYE! XXXO

Don't Raikkonen on my parade!

Kimi wanted to race for McLaren or No-one, funds at the team meant the Iceman missed out to Button!

Aye up! Look who's back? Avec Rosberg.

New BFF's, play nice boys! Jenson's overtaking + McLarens Kers Button... OOOOOHH SUCH FUN!!! EEEEEKK.

OK so another massive thing in my life is Formula1. Love it or hate it, but the infusion of Money and Passion is too much for me to resist!

So last year i managed to miss the whole "Stig is actually Schumacher" thing... But i have now seemed to miss the the giant bombshell that is Kimi Raikkonen missing out on this years championship.

Raikkonen being set on fire in the pit lane last year was hands down the best part of the 2009 championship!
When asked if he would keep his visor down in future due to it being up throughout the blast and warming his eyelashes, he answered, NO? It's Hot! aaah what a man!

Forget Jenson lifting the Rose water in Abu Dabi. Forget the RedBull/Brawn action, forget the BBC allowing Jake Humphrey, DC and Eddie Jordon to CLASH dramatically with their meshing of check, pinstriped, blue, pink and purple shirts.

No, no, no! For me last year was all about Raikkonen the "ICEMAN". What a legend... The magic that guy brought when he was on topform was amazing.. Remember Monza?? Aaah what a shame!

Come back next year mate.... McLaren aint all that!

Also-

Lewis Moody a fellow native of mine is also rumoured to leave Leicester Tigers to go to Bath?! What is happening in the world???? Come back boys xxx

Fresh Start

OK so.... AW10 NY/MILAN/LONDON have come and gone Paris will do soon and quite frankly i didn't really seem to notice! So Safari is back (you know, for a change), Prints are everywhere, Cloggs are back (cringe|) and Pastels are the key colours. I'm tempted to quote from the Devil wears Prada and sarcastically add "Florals... in Spring (!) hmmm".

As mind-blowing as all that was i am struggling to find a Rat's ass to give!

Since the heart wrenching (yes! Heart-wrenching) news of Alexander McQueen passing last month, I'm not afraid to state I'm depressed. I hadn't cried so much at a death since they killed off Marian in that BBC1's Robin Hood series!

I actually feel lost, the man was a light. He was the only person i ever wanted to work for. A true British icon and inspiration. R.I.P Lee Alexander McQueen. He will always be the King to me!

Also one last thing to add to fashion week news... Can we all build a bridge and get over the whole "size 14, size 16 models/ fat vs.thin" debacle because it's too boring, and if talking about such topic is all you can bring to the fashion game then may i suggest you quit whatever course/job your trying to do and apply for a job at Spud You Like? Thanks. Roll on Spring/Summer.

:D <3 Peace xxxxxxo

Nice Tackies!

So..
It all happened in the Summer of 1998. I'm about 5ft tall (I grew tres fast), 9 years old, VERY GEEKISH and standing in JJB mesmerized by their wall of TRAINERS!! It was there and then our eyes met.

ADIDAS EAGLES the name, Sharpe and sophisticated's the game! A white sports shoe with lovely traditional Maroon (yep, Maroon!) coloured Adidas detailing. It was at that moment that i begged my mum to let me leave the world of "Hi-Tec". (a distressing place of which i was exhausted. It's never good when your standing BEHIND your mates at school to the hide the fact that last nights application of superglue has again failed to keep the rubber attached to the sole of your shoe!)

Mum sympathetically obliged and home with me came these luxurious beauties! Ever since Trainers have played an important part of my "attire".

There was that brief stint in Yr 6, where my BFF Susie bought some either Reebok's or Nike's and they were a new shape!!! Yes a new shape! This new shoe was streamlined, smooth, versatile and had the out sole of a professional tennis player. I WAS IN SHOCK. after my 3rd pair of Adidas Eagles i feared i may have to again move with the times... Sticking to my guns i remained with Adidas, conforming to this nifty smooth shape but still keeping with the purple colouring. After the streamlined curvy shape. I was old enough to understand what RUN DMC where on about when they said it was "Tricky" and with the help of fellow wearers So Solid Crew, (im so cool) I bought my first pair of Superstars/Shell toes. Again in Purple, may i also add that all of these trainers were in size 7!! A size I'm pretty sure I have never been, but a clown size I've had to put up due to Mum's "You will grow!" theory.

Anyway it was after she shell toes that i made the transition to Nike.. and the Puma... All transitions have been landmarks in ones life and each pair like a old best friend, but what my point is, is that trainers have been ( god I'm such a tit!) a big thing for me.

CONVERSE to me are an American icon, a clown shoe special, and most definitely NOT for me! I am most definitely a trainers snob and my trainer loving mates and i have never had time for Converse.

However, times.. They-are-a changing. The idea to cross another "cultural" bridge came when i saw Nicole Ritchie sporting a pair, and when i was faced with the issue of not being able to match Nike IDs with tights or or dresses!

The leap came just before Xmas and quite frankly I haven't looked back, they are a fashion dream. Mix/Match and accessible to all. I love them :)

Steamlined!!!!

Mnnn BEAUTIES <3

 WTF?! Gross.

My New Best Friend is...

Damien Hirst!!

This weird and wonderful art genius now takes pride of place in my head amongst the Best of British! Side by side with my man McQueen, Hirst is an Icon, a sculptural freak and a majestic visionary. Yes that's how i will describe him.

Ever sat next to a pregnant lady on the bus and thought.... " Hmm i wonder how you and your unborn bubba would look like right now if you were both sliced in half?" or "How much d'ya reckon George Michael or Beckham would bid to pay for the skull of a random to be caked in Diamonds?" OR (my personal favourite..)

"What would a baby calf look like if i paint its tootsies in Gold and bathed him in a tub of FORMALDEHYDE?" .. A sight I could not take my eyes off for some time... You can see it's little nose hairs swaying in the liquid!

Further to the point.... Where did he get so much Formaldehyde???

I Love him, i love how he's BFF is Keith Allen and i would love to see more of his stuff. He made the POPLIFE exhibit at Tatey Mod much more exciting!!

Although the dead horse there was also quite a treat!
"False Idol" (wikipedia the meaning of false idol, the man's a legend!)

show studio

So don't know about anyone else but SHOWSTUDIO- ROCKED MY WORLD.... OK OK I know this post is a million years too late, but this did genuinely rock my world and is still continuing to....

McQs video for the Doomed Bride-Groom obviously caught my eye, but Liberty Ross' mix n match piece by piece video got me thinking about making videos?! Me.. Technology.. oh no no no!
But yes yes yes! I'm going to sound like a right geek now, but Final Cut Pro has actually moved in and taken a little place in my heart right next to In-Design! Mixed with a little filming/youtubing etc I could actually get used to this media lark!

I have to now do a "Political Fashion" project inspired by Nick Knight and his team revolving around SHOWstudio. SO WATCH THIS SPACE! I could be the next Rankin ;)

a kiss from Gerry Hall!!

Naomi, Naomi and Naomi

Draw on Naomi

Studion set up avec Anons bum?! :)

Vila clothing

Vila clothing - "VILA Devoted to creating feminine identity - The VILA girl is a modern nostalgic. She is a bohemian diva a classic girl with style."

I keep coming across this cute brand, and as a label lover i am partial to the marketing jargon that you buy into whilst purchasing their goods! ^The quote above really excited me, and got me thinking "well, i do like their stuff, so i MUST be a Bohemian Diva etc!" I'm thoroughly sold and will take pleasure in keeping this brand as my little secret (even tho, I'm showing it off you you guys ha!).

Also i just bought the best and most COMFORTABLE skinny, body con, Grey jeans from them. I loved them so much i got the Pink ones as well! They are perfect in every way! x

Oi Kate Mate, Where's ya dress from?

Did you know...?
If you go down to the woods today and come across Topshop on Oxford circus, you will be in for a very big surprise!

Kate Moss, Scarlett Johansson, Sophie Dahl and select others have donated their best party gear to the high street store so Mere Mortals like you and I can hire them for around £40!
The gestures have come in aid to help the charities 'Age Concern' and 'Help the Aged'.
Nice one girls... Dresses are only available mid December and are only on show for 24hours!

Imagine the possibly unfulfilling yet sickly sweet satisfaction of answering "its a Lanvin borrowed from Kate Moss" when your usually smug boss asks where your threads are from as she gobsmackingly drops the keys to her Porsche into her Prada clutch!! Mmmnn Mwahaha...

McQueen for King

Firstly i would like to dedicate this blog to my beautiful, faithful friend Katie who fell in love with this particular designer way back in our early college days, why i didn't listen to her then i don't know?!

Like most of the country and fashionistas my age, i have had my head hoisted firmly high in the Marc Jacobs sky! Eurgh why?

OK so Daisy perfume smells OK, his watch collections have tempted us all, and his SS09 Doctor Q work wear bag in Purple is something i have argued with my Mother about many a time. "But Muuuuuuuumm!! I neeeeeeed it, they're only savings!!". Ahh Tragic.

However, apart from that what other life changing, earth shattering, head turning things has he done??.... Answers on a postcard pls. It's fair to say i am most definitely "so over him".

For years the Queen of my fashion beating heart has always belonged to the mighty Westwood...

There was a brief stint in the late 90's where the crown went to Mr Gianni Versace, but at the time i was wearing patchwork flared jeans and listening to Sclub 7 so it's unfair to say i was fully equipped to make such final judgement!

However, my mate Viv... Aaah how for years i have adored, watched and idolised such an amazing woman. "Let it Rock" ... Say no more! Limited edition "Anglomania" perfume is still reasonably untouched, wrapped up in hankies and towels and hiding from the outside world in my desk draw at home. Fancy job interviews is the only time it gets unwrapped and sprayed for all to enjoy.

Anyway- so Vivienne Westwood, I do love you, you never forget your first love. Hours of research on her throughout college has most definitely helped me mould and structure my fashion alter ego.

However... There's a new queen in my life. Alexander McQueen!!

There comes a time in every girls life where she sees a boy, feels things she hasn't before. This is one of those times! Like i said before, my darling Katie raved about this creative genius all through college "feathers this" and "scarves with skulls on that". Did i listen? I did not, his hologram on Kate Moss for his A/W06 collection even failed to get picked up on my radar! Where have i been?

The man is a genius and has become my ultimate muse and idol since choosing to study him for my Contextual Studies essay! The man is god.. and i almost don't want to go into detail to much for the fear everyone else might convert.. Although they should! ALEXANDER MCQUEEN <3
